DAY 1Asahikawa

Welcome to Asahikawa, Hokkaido & Get Close to Animals

  • Meals: Dinner
  • Stay: Art Hotel Asahikawa (Superior Twin – 24sqm, 2 x W120cm single beds)

Welcome to Asahikawa – your gateway to exploring Hokkaido!

Upon arrival at Asahikawa Airport, be greeted by a Kintetsu English tour guide and take a private transfer to your hotel where we’ll spend the next 2 nights.
On the way to the hotel, we’ll visit Asahiyama Zoo – home to over 110 kinds of animals. Asahiyama Zoo is known for its unique enclosures that allow you to get up close to Hokkaido’s native animals in ways you never thought possible.
Kanpai! Let’s raise a glass and enjoy a welcome sushi kaiseki dinner at a local restaurant. Get to know your fellow travellers over dinner while your tour guide shares more tour information and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions.

DAY 2Asahikawa

Adventure in the Mountains

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Stay: Art Hotel Asahikawa (Superior Twin – 24sqm, 2 x W120cm single beds)

Start the day with a 1-hour leisurely walk around Mount Asahi (Asahidake, 2,291m). A ropeway will take you 1,590m up the mountain to Sugatami Station where your licensed mountain guide will lead your group through the trail while providing commentary about the area. Breathe in the fresh mountain air as we spot alpine plants, flowers, ponds and even wildlife around the trail as the snow begins melting from June.
There’s more adventure in store after lunch, as we try our hand at rafting. Our licensed instructor will skilfully guide us down the fast-moving whitewater of the Chubetsu River. Grab a paddle and enjoy the ride and the stunning views of the Daisetsu Mountain range. But don’t worry, the water conditions are suitable for beginners!

*We recommend wearing a t-shirt and shorts for rafting. Jeans or cotton clothing are not recommended as they will not dry quickly. Pack a backpack with a towel and spare clothes as you will get wet on the raft.

DAY 3Asahikawa > Biei > Furano

The wonders of Hokkaido’s nature

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Stay: Furano Natulux Hotel (Twin Room – 22sqm, 2 x W120cm single beds)

After an active day, relax in Furano and Biei – two towns in central Hokkaido surrounded by rolling hills and picturesque scenery.
We’ll tour the Biei area and stop at each of the beautiful sights the area has to offer: the 30-metre Shirahige Waterfalls, the mysterious Shirogane Blue Pond where a natural mineral reaction turns the water an astonishing shade of blue and Shikisai-no-oka, a flower garden carpeted by a kaleidoscope of flowers spread across a hill.
We’ll recharge with a wagyu beef stew lunch at a restaurant located in the heart of cattle farmland before visiting a local winery and tasting their wines.
Before heading to the hotel, we stop by Furano Marche, a shopping complex stocked with locally-sourced produce including dairy products, wines, pastry and fresh groceries.
After checking in to our hotel in Furano, take a short walk to a local restaurant and enjoy a tempura rice bowl and soba noodles for dinner.

DAY 4Furano > Sapporo

Cycling tour across Summer Furano and a well-earned feast

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Stay: Quintessa Hotel Sapporo (Superior Twin – 28sqm, 2 x W110cm single beds)

Today we hit the road on a 3-hour cycling ride across the picturesque countryside of Furano. With your private guide, ride along straight country roads lined with rice fields and vegetable farms while the fresh summer breeze makes for perfect cycling conditions.
After the cycling adventure, board the private coach for a relaxing 2-hour trip onward to Sapporo – Hokkaido’s largest city and home to many attractions.
Let’s indulge as we spend the afternoon and evening at the Sapporo Beer Garden. Start with a 1-hour premium tour of the Sapporo Beer Museum. Learn the history of Sapporo’s own beer and, of course, find out why it’s so popular with a sample.
For dinner, you’ll experience a Hokkaido favourite, Genghis Khan (lamb BBQ) at the Sapporo Beer Garden. Cook up a storm at your table in this beer hall setting while enjoying freshly-brewed Sapporo Beer. All-you-can-drink, all-you-can-eat, it’s all you could want from a perfect night out in Sapporo!

DAY 5Sapporo

A sailing journey across the lake / step into a mysterious world

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Stay: Quintessa Hotel Sapporo (Superior Twin – 28sqm, 2 x W110cm single beds)

After breakfast at the hotel, spend the morning on a pristine lake for a 2-hour kayaking/canoeing trip*. With a professional kayaking instructor as your guide, take in the beautiful scenery and songs of the birds as we cut through the clear water.
After lunch, take a 3-hour guided tour of the Corridor in the Moss. Step into this mysterious corridor covered with fresh green moss and immerse yourself in a serene, relaxing world of a million shades of green.

*Please note: The activity on Day 5 will be either kayaking at Lake Shikotsu or canoeing at Lake Toya.

DAY 6Sapporo

Explore Sapporo City and find your favourite ramen

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Stay: Quintessa Hotel Sapporo (Superior Twin – 28sqm, 2 x W110cm single beds)

This morning, your tour guide takes you on a 2-hour Sapporo city walk to introduce the history of Sapporo city. The tour visits must-see places including the hundred-year-old Nijo Fish Market, Hokkaido Jingu Shrine, Sapporo Clock Tower and Sapporo TV Tower. The TV Tower’s observation deck provides an epic view of Odori Park – the city’s green oasis that stretches 13 blocks – and the mountain ranges that surround Sapporo.
After the tour, you’ll receive a voucher to redeem at Ramen Yokocho (Ramen Alley). Duck into this tiny alley and choose from any one of the ramen shops – they’re all fantastic! We recommend trying a bowl of miso ramen – a specialty of Sapporo.
From here, you’re free to explore Sapporo on your own for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Try visiting Sapporo’s vast underground shopping centres. Designed as a sanctuary from Sapporo’s harsh snowy winters – the shops extend as far as you can see! A perfect place for picking up Hokkaido souvenirs.

DAY 7Sapporo

Farewell, but hope to see you again!

  • Meals: Breakfast

As our tour comes to an end, enjoy your morning before meeting your tour guide at the hotel lobby for your private transfer back to New Chitose Airport.
We look forward to welcoming you again to Hokkaido. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
