Japanese MotoGP Grand Prix with Bike Touring Experience

If you love the thrill of MotoGP action and are a rider yourself, this is the perfect tour for you. Witness the pinnacle of motorcycle racing at the Japanese Grand Prix at Mobility Resort Motegi. Don’t miss any action with three huge days at the circuit. After seeing the world’s best riders, it’s time to jump on a bike yourself and enjoy an incredible 2-day tour through the picturesque Izu peninsula. Between all the high-octane action, you’ll also have the chance to experience Japanese culture in the historical town of Nikko and Tokyo. Scheduling and experiences are subject to change based on local health and safety guidelines at the time of the event.

DAY 1Tokyo > Utsunomiya

Welcome to Japan!

  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Meet your tour escort and fellow travellers at the arrival hall at Haneda Airport. We then board the charter coach for a Tokyo Olympic Precinct Panoramic Tour. We drive past the Olympic Village, Tokyo Aquatics Centre and Tokyo Ariake Urban Sports Park as we continue to Tsukiji Outer Market.
Over a few blocks, Tsukuji Outer Market is packed tightly with many small local shops selling all manner of traditional Japanese foods. Navigate through the narrow lanes and seek out some sushi for breakfast. But don’t limit yourself there – there are hundreds of freshly made and delectable things to try!
For lunch, we stop at a local tempura restaurant before departing Tokyo and heading to Utsunomiya.
Once you have checked in at the hotel, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure before meeting up again for a welcome dinner and tour briefing.
Enjoy a beautiful French dinner and get to know the rest of the fellow travellers!

DAY 2Utsunomiya > Motegi > Utsunomiya

A peek behind the scenes at MotoGP

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll start our day at the Honda Collection Hall. Located right at Mobility Resort Motegi, this is a Honda fan’s dream. Explore the hall and see 350 of the most iconic vehicles of Honda’s past that dates back to the 1940s. Here you’ll find everything from classic passenger cars to Honda’s history-making racing cars and bikes.
After you visit the Honda Collection Hall, we’ll have lunch at Mobility Resort Motegi Hotel.
This afternoon, you get to witness their practice run!

DAY 3Utsunomiya > Motegi > Utsunomiya

MotoGP – Qualifying Day

  • Meals: Breakfast
  • Stay: Chisun Hotel Utsunomiya (Double Room) or similar

This morning, we return to the Motegi circuit for a full day of on-track action! First, watch as the riders hit the track for free practice sessions. Then watch the riders push the bikes to the limit as they try to secure pole position in qualifying – the highlight of the day.
After a day of fun and excitement, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

DAY 4Utsunomiya > Motegi > Utsunomiya

MotoGP – Race Day

After breakfast, you’ll return to Motegi for the main event – race day!
Things kick off in the morning with the warm-up sessions for each category before the races start in the early afternoon. Of course, you’ll see it all from your grandstand seat. Let’s hope for a great race and a close finish!
After an exciting day, you will be transferred back to the hotel for your final night in Utsunomiya.

DAY 5Utsunomiya > Tokyo

Return to Tokyo

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll return to Tokyo via private coach.
Our first stop is high above Tokyo as we head skywards up the 634m-high Tokyo Skytree–the second-highest structure in the world! The never-ending sprawl of Tokyo laid out beneath you is a truly unforgettable sight.
After coming back to earth, we stop for lunch at a local yakiniku restaurant before strolling down the buzzing Nakamise shopping street in Asakusa. Sample traditional snacks and souvenir shopping before arriving at Sensoji —Tokyo’s most famous temple.
In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive back at the hotel where you can relax for the rest of the day.

DAY 6Tokyo > Izu (Imaihama)

Bike Tour – Day 1

You’ve seen the MotoGP riders in action, and now it’s your turn to hit the road! Welcome to day 1 of a 2-day motorcycle tour across the stunning Izu and Hakone regions.
After a quick briefing session from your local guide explaining Japanese riding rules and etiquette, it’s time to go!
Our route leads us through some of the best roads in the country. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views from iconic roads like the Nishi Izu Skyline, Izu Skyline, Mazda Turnpike, Omura Mountain & Lift and Hakone Ashinoko Skyline.
Your day concludes at the Izu Imaihama Hotel, a beautiful seaside resort. After a delicious dinner, take a much-needed break in the therapeutic hot spring bath while enjoying sea views.

DAY 7Izu (Imaihama) > Tokyo

Bike Tour – Day 2

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Stay: Mitsui Garden Hotel Italia-gai (Moderate Queen)

After breakfast, we hit the road again and start riding back toward Tokyo.
Along the way, experience the ride of your life with a stop at Irozaki Cliffs followed by Kawazu Seven Waterfalls before finally taking on the famous Kawazu Nanadaru Loop Bridge, considered one of the most spectacular bridges in the world.
After lunch at Darumayama Kogen Rest House, we’ll continue to the Ashinoko Skyline Rest Area.
By early evening, we’ll arrive at the Yokohama bike depot, where our bike tour concludes. From here, you’ll be transferred back to the hotel for your final night in Tokyo.

 
DAY 8Tokyo

One last bit of action

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

On our final day in Japan, we get to witness a close-up sumo demonstration. Witness how they train and how flexible they are despite weighing more than 150kg. We heard so much about sumo, now you get to meet a sumo wrestler and taste their favorite meal, chanko nabe!
As the sun sets, our tour comes to an end, and we return to the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free at your own leisure, perhaps you may like to go and get your last-minute souvenirs before we head home.
Late afternoon, you will be transferred back to Haneda Airport for flight home!

  • You must be over 25 and under 70 years of age at the time of the tour.
  • You must have held an Australian motorcycle riders licence for at least five years.
  • While operating the motorcycle, you must be a current Australian motorcycle rider licence holder and have a current International Driving Permit (IDP).
  • You are the registered owner of a motorcycle in Australia with an engine capacity of the bike you are hiring. You cannot select a bike engine size that is larger than the bike that you own in Australia.
  • You must wear a helmet at all times while operating the bike.
  • You cannot participate in a professional capacity.
  • You must not race or engage in reckless riding. Japanese road laws must be obeyed at all times.
  • You are not participating in motocross.
  • You must take out travel insurance to cover yourself for any unforeseen accident/bike damage excess (standard excess is 100,000 yen per claim).
  • Please kindly note that, due to COVID-19, the schedule is subject to change.
