Kid Heaven: Tokyo Disney Resort®, snow monkeys and skiing
Are you looking for a family ski holiday with a dash of Disney magic? Spend 3 nights at Madarao Tokyu Resort HOTEL TANGRAM. Tucked away in northern Nagano, this resort is wonderful for families – less people, terrain suited to beginners and world-class snow.
This tour caters to complete beginners. Your lift pass, skis and clothing are all included, and a licensed English speaking instructor will teach you everything you need to know. It’s skiing made easy and hassle-free.
We begin in Tokyo, where you’ll experience the best theme parks in the world at the Tokyo Disney Resort®. From Tokyo, head to Nagano prefecture via the bullet train and meet the iconic snow monkeys, before arriving at Tangram Ski Circus.
Tangram Ski Circus should be high on your list if you value a less-crowded experience at a smaller resort while enjoying quality snow.

Welcome to Tokyo, Japan!
After arriving at Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo-Ariake Hotel, be greeted by our Kintetsu representative, who’ll assist you with checking in.*
We recommend exploring Ariake Garden, an entertainment and shopping complex adjacent to the hotel. The complex boasts hundreds of shops, a kids play area and over 50 restaurants.
Rest up and get ready for five days packed with adventure!
*Please arrive at the hotel by 3 pm.
It’s Disney time! This tour offers the flexibility of letting your family choose between a day at Tokyo Disneyland® or Tokyo DisneySea®. Whichever park you choose, you’ll enjoy a “must-see” Disney experience combined with first-class Japanese hospitality.
Tokyo Disneyland® is the first Disney Park built outside of the US. It is modelled closely after the original parks in California. Recommended if you want the classic Disneyland experience and haven’t been to the parks in the US and have younger kids.
Tokyo DisneySea® is the second park at the resort. With more rides aimed at slightly older kids and different lands to see, we recommend DisneySea if you’ve already visited the parks in the US and have older kids.
Whichever park you choose, you’ll enjoy a “must-see” Disney experience combined with first-class Japanese hospitality.
A private mini-bus will take you to this unforgettable experience
After a day of Disney magic, make your way back to the hotel by local train with the prepaid IC cards provided.
Just take the essentials with you to Tangram Madarao and enjoy the freedom of packing light! You can leave the rest of your luggage at your Tokyo hotel when checking out.
Your private mini-bus will take you to Tokyo Station, where you’ll board the iconic shinkansen (bullet train) bound for Iiyama, Nagano.
Before arriving at Madarao, you’ll first visit the Jigokudani Monkey Park. This Park is famous for being the home to the wild Japanese Macaque Monkeys (better known as snow monkeys). You’ll be amazed as you find yourself face to face with the pink-faced monkeys as they bask in the open hot springs.
We’ll arrive at the hot springs area after a 30-40 minute walk along a beautiful snow-covered forest trail. Be sure to dress warmly and wear appropriate footwear.
Back on the road again, it’s on to the scenic town of Tangram Madarao.
Enjoy an included buffet dinner at your accommodation.
After breakfast, it’s time to take your first steps into the world of skiing! An English-speaking instructor will start your family on the right track with a 2-hour ski lesson, teaching you all the basics to give you the confidence to explore.
As you focus on learning, remember to look around and take in the beautiful Madarao scenery! It’s truly breathtaking.
In the afternoon, put your new skills to the test and start to explore the slopes on your own.
Your first day of skiing is bound to result in sore muscles. So take advantage of the hotel indoor and outdoor onsen (hot spring), where you can relax and reflect on a fantastic day.
With a little training under your belt, it’s time to head out and try your new skills on the mountain. There’s no pressure; take it slow and steady!
First, familiarise yourself with the trails of the mountain. We recommend the trails marked with a green dot. That indicates they’re designed for beginners. The other trails are for more advanced skiers – perhaps on your next holiday!
There’s nothing better than exploring the snowy landscape with your family. You can take in the views together, laugh at each other when you fall and help each other get back up again. Skiing is a great bonding experience – no matter what your skill level is.
After a massive day on the mountain, you’re sure to be exhausted. Enjoy an included farewell buffet dinner at the hotel and relax (and maybe have another soak in the onsen!)
By now, we hope you’re hooked on skiing and the beauty of the pristine ski fields of Japan. Good news – there’s time for one final morning session of skiing before heading back to Tokyo in the afternoon.
A private mini-bus will take you to Nagano station to board the bullet train bound for Tokyo.
You’ll return to your hotel via private taxi, where you can collect your stored luggage before checking in for your final night.
The tour concludes after breakfast at the hotel.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
